Four FC Krasnodar players have capped for their national teams

Four FC Krasnodar players capped for their national teams in matches held on 6 and 7 September 2018.

The new UEFA Nations League tournament was opened on 6 September with a clash of Kazakhstan vs. Georgia staged in Astana. The visitors won 2-0, while Tornike Okriashvili made his first appearance for his national team in two years. The Krasnodar midfielder, who had recovered from the two serious injuries, came in as a substitution on the 75th minute when the score was already 2-0.

Two other FC Krasnodar midfielders took part in friendly games on the same day. Christian Cueva spent a full ninety with his Peru national team in an away game against Netherlands in Amsterdam. He marked himself with an assist on the 13th minute after which an opener was scored by Pedro Aquino. The home team managed to tip the balance in their favor in the second half through, so they achieved a 2-1 comeback after a brace by Memphis Depay (60′ and 83′).  

Since the Swedish national team’s coaching staff fielded an experimental first eleven in a friendly game with Austria, Viktor Claesson came in on the 67th minute when the Blågult were  already down by two goals after an own goal by Filip Helander (11′) and a classy shot by David Alaba (64′). Claesson was unable to save this match for his team, so the score remained the same until the very full-time making the Austrian team victorious.

Team Russian began their career in the UEFA Nations League on 7 September beating Turkey 2-1 away in Trabzon. The opener was scored on the 13th minute by Denis Cheryshev, but a few minutes to the half-time the home team scored an equalizing goal after a precise shot by Serdar Aziz. Artyom Dzyuba scored a winning goal for the Russian national team early in the second half with an assist provided to him by Yury Gazinsky who spent a full ninety minutes on a field of play.
