Seven Players of FC Krasnodar Capped for Their National Teams

Granqvist qualified into the UEFA Euro 2016 finals, Smolov scored a goal and Ahmedov made three assists

On November 17th another fixtures of the national teams took place worldwide.  As many as seven players of FC Krasnodar made their appearances in those.

Two players of the Bulls capped for the Russia national team in a friendly match vs. Croatia in Rostov-on-Don. Striker Fyodor Smolov spent full 90 minutes on the pitch scoring an opener on the 15th minute with an accurate header after a ball had been served to him by Ionov while midfielder Pavel Mamayev came in as a sub on the 71st minute. The clash ended with a 3:1 victory of the away team with all their goals scored in the second half.

FC Krasnodar defender Andreas Granqvist assumed his natural position in the centre of defense of the Sweden national team in a second-leg match of the UEFA Euro 2016 play-offs vs. Denmark that was staged in Copenhagen. Andreas spent the full match on a pitch displaying his regular high-level performance. The Swedes tied 2:2 (Zlatan Ibrahimović scored a brace for their team) winning a trip to finals in France on aggregate. We cordially congratulate the team captain of the black-greens with this achievement.

Halfback Odil Ahmedov led his Uzbekistan national team to the pitch wearing captain’s armband again, in Qatar this time, in a match of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification (AFC Second Round) vs. Yemen. Uzbekistan achieved a confident 3:1 victory conceding a goal as late as in the additional time while Odil Ahmedov spent full 90 minutes in game proving his top class and making three assists to his partners. Midfielder Charles Kaboré played from kick-off till full time for his Burkina Faso team in a match of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification (CAF Second Round) vs. Benin. Kaboré and his teammates won 2:0 at home qualifying for the next stage of the tournament on aggregate since they lost 1:2 in the first-leg match.

Defender Artur Jędrzejczyk spent full playing time with his Poland national team in a home friendly match vs. Czech Republic that was won by the Poles 3:1.

Centre back Ragnar Sigurðsson appeared on a pitch for Iceland on the 75th minute of an away friendly match vs. Slovakia that was lost 1:3 by the Northern team. As for Stefan Strandberg the universal player, he stayed in reserve of the Norway national team when they played a second-leg game of the UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying in Hungary on November 15th losing to the home team 1:2 and thus missing the finals of the most important tournament of the Old World.
