In the first scrimmage of the winter training camps FC Krasnodar met Legia Warsaw which is currently at an advanced stage of preparation for the season. The Bulls’ performance under the guidance of the new coaching staff is undergoing transformation at the moment, but it did not prevent the Krasnodar team from seizing the initiative directly after the kick-off. Early in the game Spertsyan and Botheim attempted a couple of testing shots, and on the 12th minute the black-greens succeeded in a flawless cracking of the opposite defense. Claesson brought Botheim and Wanderson to a two-on-one situation with Boruc that resulted in a shot on an empty goal.
Starting from the middle of the first half Legia began creating dangerous situations, too. Of these, Pesqueira’s shot that hit the crossbar and Pekhart’s miss in a quick attack must be noted. As for the Bulls, Chernikov could have totally doubled the lead if his header had been a bit more accurate.
The Drużyna Sportowa Legia managed to turn the tide of the game only after the interval when the Krasnodar starting eleven were sent to rest and young Academy-trained players appeared on a field of play instead alongside their more experienced partners. On the 54th minute Josué Pesqueira netted the ball into the goalpost with a pool-like shot. On the 82nd minute Wieteska met a high cross with a header and scored another goal.
The first Dubai scrimmage resulted in a loss for the Bulls. And yet, this is just the beginning of a long-term path for the team that had been training under the management of Daniel Farke for a few days only.
