Football Club Krasnodar and Fotballklubben Bodø/Glimt from Norway have finalized a transfer of Eric Botheim. The 21-year-old striker has signed a contract with the Bulls until the end of June 2025.
Eric Botheim was born on 10 January 2000 in Oslo, Norway. He is a cadet of the local Lyn 1896 football club. In 2015, at the age of 15, he made his debut for the Lyn first team. In 2016 he signed a contract with Rosenborg BK, and subsequently he made 34 appearances and scored 9 goals with the Trondheim club.
In 2021 he became a player of FK Bodø/Glimt. With this team he began scoring regularly in the Norwegian Eliteserien and the UEFA Cup games, including matches of the 2021-22 UEFA Champions League First qualifying round against Legia Warsaw (the Norwegians lost 3-2 and 2-0, but Botheim scored a header goal on the 45th minute of the first leg game).
Eric Botheim has been regularly receiving call-ups to the junior teams of Norway since he was 15. He took part in the UEFA Under-17 Euro 2017 and UEFA Under-19 Euro 2018 tournaments. In total, he has scored 14 goals for the national teams of his country.
On 22 December 2021 FC Krasnodar and FK Bodø/Glimt reached an agreement on the transfer of the 21-year-old striker. As for now, all the formalities have been settled and Eric Botheim has signed a contract with the Bulls that is valid until 30 June 2025.
