Four FC Krasnodar players have taken part in the first slot of the October matches of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification. Their teams achieved three wins and tied once.
Team Russia narrowly kept the minimal 1-0 win alive in a game with Slovakia in Moscow, largely due to Matvei Safonov’s confident performance. FC Krasnodar goalkeeper has thus achieved his second clean sheet in an official match with the Russia national team.
A shot from Viktor Claesson allowed the Blågult to earn a penalty kick in the game with Kosovo when an opposite defender blocked the ball with his hand. It resulted in Emil Forsberg scoring an opener from a penalty spot. The Sweden national team won 3-0, and they are currently second in their Group B and only a point behind Spain after five played games (Spain played six).
Uroš Spajić helped team Serbia to beat Luxembourg away 1-0. The Krasnodar defender made an appearance early in the second half. The Serbs are currently leading in Group A, but the Portugal national team are the potential leaders since they have played one game less.
The Armenia national team tied 1-1 away with Iceland. Eduard Spertsyan made the first eleven, was booked on the 74th minute, and substituted four minutes later.
The Russia national under-21 football team defeated Northern Ireland and secured the second position in Group C. FC Krasnodar defender Daniil Kornyushin stayed on the bench.
