12 July 2020. Krasnodar. FC Krasnodar Stadium. Cloudy, occasional rain. 31 degrees.
The black-greens began the game against FC Ural in a mighty way and quickly earned two dangerous free kicks. The first was wasted as Kaio failed to meet a serve by Fernandes. The second free kick was executed flawlessly though, including a shot taken by Daniil Utkin on the far corner and an elusive header by Marcus Berg.
FC Krasnodar went on playing a pressure game, and that same Berg alone had three chances to record a brace for himself before the half-time. The Bumblebees were saved by their goalie Poletayev twice. On one more occasion he would be helpless to do it, but the Swedish striker hit the goalpost as he tried to finish the ball on rebound. As for the visitors, they did create a scoring chance of their own. On the 20th minute Kucharczyk just barely missed shooting the ball into the left corner of the net from the centre of the box.
In the second half the thick July heat was thinned down with heavy raindrops, but they did not prevent the Bulls from brining the game to a smashing defeat. On the 57th minute Manuel Fernandes broke through the centre of Ural defense and doubled the Krasnodar lead on his second attempt. At the death a quick raid by Wanderson resulted in a penalty, and Rémy Cabella made the score big with his Panenka kick.
The win over the Yekaterinburg team brought FC Krasnodar back to the top three in the standings. If the black-greens win the postponed game they have not yet played, they will share the second position with FC Lokomotiv Moscow.
