The Russian Junior Team played another match of the 2021 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying competition in Yekaterinburg on 11 October. The Russians met Polish players of the same age.
The game resulted in a 2-2 tie. It should be noted that two FC Krasnodar Youth Academy-trained players born in 1999 made the first eleven of the Russian squad, namely midfielder Daniil Utkin (he scored a goal on the 25th minute) and Magomed-Shapi Suleymanov (he scored another one late in the injury time).
The Russia national under-21 team will play its next UEFA Under-21 Euro 2021 qualifying game away vs. Estonia on 15 October. The kick-off time is at 19.15 (MSK).
