The Outcome of the National Team Session Was Not Happy for FC Krasnodar

Gazinsky and Claesson are out due to injuries

Final matches of the summer national team session were held on 10 and 11 June 2019. Four FC Krasnodar players took part there.

Centre-back Uroš Spajić played a full 90 for Serbia again. His national team managed to redeem themselves at home for a painful defeat to Ukraine three days prior, as Lithuania was now beaten 4-1 at the Marakana stadium in Belgrade. This win allowed the Оrlovi to climb up to the third position in the UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying Group B with four points earned and Luxembourg second in the standings on a tie-breaker only.

His partner in the black-green centre of defense, Aleksandr Martynovich also played a full 90 in a home game vs. Northern Ireland. Team Belarus lost 1-0 due to a goal conceded at the death. Even though the White Wings have accumulated no points so far, they are currently second-to-last in their Group C keeping Estonia behind due to a better goal difference.

Left-back Christian Ramírez came in as a substitution on the 54th minute in a friendly game of his Ecuador national team vs. Mexico that was staged in Dallas, USA. This scrimmage, that was regarded by many as a dress rehearsal before the beginning of the 2019 Copa América, ended with a 3-2 win of the Mexican team.

Trouble came for FC Krasnodar and all black-green supporters at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid, Spain, in the form of Viktor Claesson’s injury. Midfielder of the Sweden national team was forced to leave the field of play as early as on the 26th minute of the game against Spain after a foul by Jordi Alba. The Blågult ultimately suffered a 3-0 defeat. Another Krasnodar midfielder, Kristoffer Olsson took part in this match when he came in on the 86th minute. Despite this setback, Sweden kept the second position in the UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying Group F with seven points in their piggy bank, but now they are five points behind the Spain national team in the lead.

Accordingly, injuries of the two key FC Krasnodar players, Yuri Gazinsky and Viktor Claesson, became an unhappy outcome of the summer national team session for the Bulls. We wish our guys to recover as quickly as possible. Yury, Viktor, we are waiting for you and we trust you will come back ever stronger!
