In the first half of the fourth Southern Derby this season FC Krasnodar enjoyed tangible playing advantage. Accordingly, it was the visitors who scored a natural opener on the 25th minute. FC Rostov Novoseltsev knocked Spajić down in his own box when a corner kick was served, and Viktor Claesson executed a penalty kick with no chance for the goalie to save it. Later on Pesyakov helped the home team a lot between the sticks, but the truth was the Bulls sometimes wasted scoring chances from decent shooting positions, too. The Rostov team, even though they managed to gain the upper hand in the last twenty minutes of the game, created little chances in order to score an equalizing goal. And yet, on the 89th minute Eremenko finally found Eldor Shomurodov in the away penalty area with a well-calculated pass, and the tall striker of the Selmashi saved one point for his team after an accurate header. 1-1 as a result, and neither team won.
