This match was of utmost importance in a fight for the Russian Premier League medals and positions that would qualify one for the UEFA Champions League. The course of events tonight on a field of play was greatly affected by an early opener the home team scored on the 7th minute. It was Daniil Utkin who managed to push the ball past the CSKA keeper Akinfeev at close range after a quick attack launched by the black-greens. The Moscow team would have to score an equalizer now, so they spent a lot of time attacking, but the Krasnodar defense and Safonov between the sticks displayed very reliable performance and thus coped with all raids on behalf of the visitors. Ten minutes after the half-time interval the young Krasnodar goalkeeper launched a counterattack that resulted in the second goal. Dmitry Stotsky fired an unsavable shot into the top corner after an aimed pass by Wanderson. The Bulls ultimately led this game to a confident win, kept the clean sheet and effectively bypassed PFC CSKA Moscow in the RPL standings as they established themselves in the third position.
