It has been announced at the press-conference in Sweden

Today, 28 January 2018, the press-conference has been staged in Sweden that involved FC Krasnodar defender Andreas Granqvist and the top management of Helsingborgs IF. It has been announced that this summer after the end of the 2018 FIFA World Cup the acting captain of both FC Krasnodar and Sweden national team will move to Helsingborg having signed a long-term contract.

Andreas Granqvist moved to FC Krasnodar from the Italian club Genoa in summer 2013. He has made 171 appearances for the black-greens scoring 10 goals and making 5 assists. Over the years the Swedish player has become a true leader of the team, its captain and a real pillar of defense. All achievements of the Club in almost five years are connected with his name and his inspiring and dedicated performance.

FC Krasnodar had been negotiating with Granqvist for quite a while to extend the contract, but the 32-year-old player is determined to return to his hometown after the current contract expires. He is looking forward to finish his gaming career in a team where he once took his first steps in the professional football.

FC Krasnodar officials respect Granqvist’s decision and are positive that Andreas will yield the maximum benefit to his current team in the remaining matches of the Season 2017/18.
