The New Wanderson Has Appeared with the Bulls

News
The 22-year-old Brazilian striker moved to FC Krasnodar from FC Red Bull Salzburg

FC Krasnodar did not stay long without a Wanderson in its squad. The Bulls have agreed with the Austrian FC Red Bull Salzburg upon the transfer of the 22-year-old Brazilian flank forward Wanderson Maciel.

Wanderson Maciel Sousa Campos was born on 7 October 1994 in São Luís, Brazil. His father Wamberto was a famous football player himself as he used to play in Europe for AFC Ajax and Standard Liège. In 2002 at the age of eight Wanderson began going in for football at the AFC Ajax Academy while his dad played for the first team of the same club. In 2009 he followed his father to Belgium and joined the local Beerschot AC where he made his debut in the Belgian Pro League in autumn 2012. Interesting enough, Waderson’s older brother Danilo, 27 years old at the moment, has a Belgian citizenship and used to play for FC Mordovia Saransk; he is now in Turkey defending the colors of Antalyaspor.

Following the results of the Season 2012/13 Beerschot AC left the top-tier league of Belgium and was declared bankrupt soon afterwards. In summer 2013 young Wanderson signed a contract with Lierse. The player spent two years in this club, but when the latter was also eliminated from the Belgian First Division A, he received a status of a free agent and accepted Getafe’s proposal. He made 20 appearances in the Spanish Primera División during the Season 2015/16, and once the season was over he moved to another club again. This time he signed a three-year contract with the Austrian FC Red Bull Salzburg as a free agent.

The fast and technically gifted flank forward (he tends to play more on the right) made 28 appearances for The Red Bulls from Salzburg last season. Wanderson scored 5 goals and made 11 assists helping his team to win the Austrian Bundesliga again along with the Austrian Cup. Our Club supporters could see Wanderson in the UEFA Europa League game of FC Salzburg vs FC Krasnodar when he came in as a substitution for the home team.

As for now FC Red Bull Salzburg and FC Krasnodar have agreed upon the details of Wanderson’s transfer to the black-green camp. The relevant paperwork has been formalized, and the player signed a long-term personal contract with our Club with an expiry date in summer 2022. Wanderson is passing a medical examination now, and on June 28th he will join the Bulls in Austria where our team will be holding their second pre-season training camp.
