21 June 2017. Krasnodar. FC Krasnodar Youth Academy Stadium. Clear. 27 degrees. 1000 spectators.

For the first pre-season friendly game against FC Chernomorets Novorossiysk the boss of the black-greens Igor Shalimov produced two different lineups, as usual. For the most part the veterans of the team were fielded in the first half including two new players, defenders Zhirov and Yanbayev. They were accompanied by Utkin of the FC Krasnodar U-21 team (he assumed the position of a defensive midfielder) and Komlichenko the centre-forward. Interesting enough, last spring the latter used to play for FC Krasnodar-2 in the Russian Second Divisons’ South Zone, and that is exactly the league where the visitors perform.

The Novorossiysk team began the game very actively and looked daring when they launched a few not-so-bad attacks. And yet, the home team became the masters of the situation quickly enough, so an opener was scored on the 12th minute. Mamayev felt uncomfortable and not fit to play soon after the kick-off, so he was substituted by Claesson. The Swede proceeded with an assist as soon as he touched the ball for the first time receiving a penetrating pass in the box from Podberyozkin. He could have attempted a shot on his own, but chose to roll the ball along the goal-line instead, so Nikolay Komlicheko found no trouble shooting the ball into the empty net from a few meters.

With half an hour of the game done the second goal was scored by the birthday boy, Vyacheslav Podberyozkin. The midfielder celebrated his 25th anniversary earning a penalty kick and executing it by himself. As the first half was drawing to its end Joãozinho created a goal masterpiece as he received the ball from Komlichenko and shoot a screamer from twenty meters that barely missed tearing through the net in the top corner of keeper Voronin’s domain.

Only goalkeeper Andrei Sinitsyn remained on pitch with the Bulls after the half-time interval while seven players of the black-green youth team came in. Their ranks were strengthened by three first squad representatives, defenders Naldo, Ramírez and halfback Zhigulyov who had recently graduated from the FC Krasnodar Youth Academy himself. The young Bulls showed no less confident performance than their older partners did, so no later than ten minutes after the game resumed Artyom Golubev put the freshly-fielded FC Chernomorets keeper Orsayev out of business with a mighty volley of his. The fifth goal was scored by the home team after a corner kick on the 62nd minute. Cristian Ramírez took a splendid shot on the volley and finished the ball after the goalie managed to parry both it and a second ball attempt by Borodin.

The visitors managed to shorten the gap a bit soon afterwards. The freshly-fielded Mikhail Gubanov exploited a fortunate ball rebound, found himself one-on-one with Sinitsyn and shot the ball past him in cold blood. In the time that remained both teams went on trading attacks, and the Krasnodar players missed several solid chances to improve their lead even more. As a result, the final whistle by Alexei Stipidi the ref (it should be noted he had displayed a generally quality refereeing) recorded a 5-1 win of FC Krasnodar. This is how the Bulls led by Igor Shalimov have begun their pre-season scrimmage series.
