FC Krasnodar is to be supplemented soon by the 24-year-old defender of the Norway national team, Stefan Strandberg, who is moving to the black-green squad from Rosenborg BK (Trondheim) as a free agent.

Ken Remi Stefan Strandberg was born on 25 Jul 1990 in a town of Lyngdal, Norway. He started to go in for football at school of his hometown. As early as at the age of 15 this good physically developed defender made his debut for the adult team with a jaw-breaking name, FK Mandalskameratene that was competing in the 3. Divisjon of Norway.

In the beginning of 2009 Stefan signed a 4-year contract with Vålerenga Fotball from the top Norwegian league. Immediately after that he was given as half-year loan to Bryne FK from the second top national division. In summer that year Strandberg returned to Vålerenga Fotball making his debut in Tippeligaen on September 12th in a match vs. Fredrikstad FK. On 5 April 2010 in a match vs. IK Start Stefan scored his first goal at the top level.

In 2012 Strandberg, who by that time had become the key defensive player of Vålerenga Fotball, received a keen interest on behalf of VfB Stuttgart from Germany, Derby County F.C. and Derby County F.C. from England. He made a decision to stay in his country of birth moving to the top team of Norway, Rosenborg BK, nevertheless. On March 25th he made his debut for the new team in a match vs. SK Brann scoring his first goal for the Trondheim team later on August 5th in a clash vs. Aalesunds FK. Soon enough Strandberg once again became one of the key players of the team also becoming a real pillar of defense for the club, a repeated champion of Norway and the current national league leader. The best qualities of this Scandinavian football player are his tenacity and obstinacy in duels, confident play in the air and very good agility.

Since the age of 16 Stefan Strandberg had been defending the colors of the Norway national U-teams, and on 28 May 2010 he made his first appearance for the Norway national U-21. In June, 2013, Strandberg traveled to the 2013 UEFA European Under-21 Championship in Israel as a team captain, and in the final match of the group stage vs. Italy Stefan successfully executed a penalty kick that brought his team a tie.

In November, 2013, Strandberg made his debut for the Norway national team in an exhibition game vs. Scotland. As for now he had capped three times for the principal Norway national team, but all of those were friendly games.

Stefan Strandberg’s contract with Rosenborg BK expires in summer 2015, so the defender accepted FC Krasnodar’s proposal as a free agent signing a 4-year personal agreement with our Club. He is to join his new team in Austria where the Bulls will commence their preparation for the beginning of the season 2015/16.
