Two Swedish players of FC Krasnodar took part in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification match of their national team on 3 September.

Centre-back Andreas Granqvist spent a full 90 minutes on a field of play as a team captain and marked himself with a scored goal when he successfully executed a penalty kick on the 84th minute making the score final. 4-0 win for the Blågult as a result. FC Krasnodar midfielder Viktor Claesson also took part in this away smashing defeat of Belarus when he came in as a substitution on the 67th minute. Goalkeeper Andrei Sinitsyn made no appearance with the Russia national team on the same day. He remained in reserve and watched his partners led by Stanislav Cherchesov as they beat FC Dynamo Moscow 3-0 in a friendly match staged at the Arena Khimki.
