On 9 October Andreas Granqvist and Aleksandr Martynovich, both central defenders of FC Krasnodar, took part in the two fixtures of UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying.

Andreas Granqvist spent full 90 minutes in a Group G match vs. Russia and was one of the best players on the pitch in the Swedish squad. As a reminder, the fixture that took place in Stockholm ended with a 1:1 draw. The opener by Kokorin early in the first half was equalized by the Swedish with Toivonen’s well-aimed shot in the beginning of the second half. Yuri Gazinskiy stayed on a bench of the Russia national team and did not make an appearance on the pitch.

Aleksandr Martynovich and his Belarus national team hosted a game vs. Ukraine in a Group C fixture of the same tournament and suffered a 0:2 defeat in the dramatic ending of the match. The FC Krasnodar player made a start in the game, spent 87 minutes on the pitch and marked himself with an own goal on the 82nd minute. Then Sydorchuk of Ukraine consolidated success of his team in the injury time.
