7 December 2019. Krasnodar. FC Krasnodar Stadium. Clear. 2 degrees. 29 567 spectators.
A loss suffered by FC Lokomotiv Moscow in Tula provided the Bulls with an opportunity to go on a winter break in the status of the RPL's second team. To achieve that, it was enough to avoid losing to PFC CSKA Moscow.
The game began poorly for FC Krasnodar however. Both teams traded dangerous raids by Wanderson and Vlašić at first, and then Oblyakov fired a mighty shot from medium distance making the ball follow a crazy bent path and dive into the far corner of the net.
The black-greens scored an equalizer midway though the second half. Ramírez took a shot from afar and the pigskin bounced to Vilhena in the centre of the box. A screamer of the Dutch player left no chance to Akinfeev as it seemed, but the ball hit the goalpost, and Ari was knocked off his feet inside the penalty area as he was attempting to finish the rebound. Referee Kazartsev ordered a penalty kick, and the episode review by means of the VAR system proved he was right. Akinfeev actually parried a shot by Ari from the penalty spot, but the striker himself recovered the deflected ball in time and rolled it into the empty corner. 1-1.
Both sides tried to snatch the win away at the death, but mutual chances remained elusive. A tie with the Moscow Armeitsy allowed FC Krasnodar to rank second (no tie-breaks!) in the Russian Premier League on completion of the autumn part of the season.
