FC Krasnodar is increasing its numbers with Kristoffer Olsson, the 23-year-old midfielder of the Sweden national team.

Mats Kristoffer Olsson was born on 30 June 1995 in Norrköping, Sweden. He is originally the club-trained player of the Idrottsklubben Sleipner, the team that performs now in the third-tier Swedish division. As early as at the age of 13 the gifted kid attracted attention of the British scouts and went to Chelsea F.C. for try-outs. One way or another, he still signed his first contract with IFK Norrköping from his hometown. When Kristoffer was 16, he received some serious attention from quite a few European clubs, AFC Ajax and Juventus F.C. among them, but in the end Olsson chose Arsenal F.C. from London.

Kristoffer spent a couple of years playing for the youth and second teams of the Gunners, and in September 2013 he made his debut for the Arsenal first team in a League Cup fixture vs. West Bromwich Albion F.C. when he came in as a substitution and scored a penalty kick in the penalty shootout. One year later the young midfielder was sent to FC Midtjylland on a loan to get more playing practice. In the end of 2014 the Danish club bought the Olsson’s contract out from Arsenal F.C. Kristoffer spent two and a half years in Denmark doing well and winning the national Superliga tournament, and then he came back to Sweden. Early in 2017 the half-back signed an agreement with AIK, and he had played there for the two last seasons. He quickly became a key component for his new club, the way he had done in FC Midtjylland, as he displayed decent performance and became the champion of the 2018 Allsvenskan league.

Olsson had played for various youth national teams of his country since he was 15, and he eventually began playing for the Sweden national under-21 football team, too. He made his debut in the principal Sweden national team on 8 January 2017 in a friendly game with Ivory Coast. He has so far capped five times for the Blågult.

At the moment FC Krasnodar and AIK have agreed on the transfer details of Kristoffer Olsson. The player will arrive to the training camp the Bulls will be holding in Spain, where a long-term contract will be signed with him. The midfielder will then join the black-green squad and begin preparing with the team for the second part of the season 2018/19.
